Molds and their spores belong to our normal environment. Molds are a mycelium of microscopic filamentous cells. The molds and their toxins get into the human organsim unnoticedly by air and food. Mold spores and toxins (mycotoxins) represent the most hazardous potentail. Several species can cause severe health disorders after permanent massive exposition. Mycotoxins can damage organs as liver, kidneys and CNS with very low concentrations. In some cases they are even carcinogenic.

For Mold Diagnostics Immunolab offers Select MycoMold ELISA test kits.  These are screening­ tests capable to determine the exposition of the immune system with numerous human-pathogen molds and some mycotoxins. In addition there are two species specific ELISA kits (Aspergillus fumigatus, Candida albicans) available for the determination of IgG, IgA und IgM antibodies.
