Adenovirus ELISA

Adenoviruses are ubiquitous pathogens of human and animals. They cause disorders of multiple organ systems (respiratory- gastrointestinal-, urogenital tracts and eyes). So far 47 different human pathogenic Adenovirus serotypes can be distinguished. Types 1-8, 40 and 41 are mostly isolated. Adenoviruses are endemic in all population classes throughout the year. They are transferred by both smear and aerial droplet infection. The incubation time is 5-7 days.

The Immunolab Adenovirus IgG/IgM/IgA ELISA kits are quantitative and qualitative tests for the detection of human antibodies to Adenovirus in serum or plasma. Serological Adenovirus tests (e.g. ELISA) provide information about both the course of the current infection in the patient and epidemiological data.
